The chairman of Iraq’s al-Rebat al-Mohammadi Scholars’ Council praised Iran over its retaliatory attack dubbed “Operation True Promise” conducted against the occupied lands stressing that the attack was carried out in defense of humanity.

Abdul Qader al-Alusi, in his address at the second International Islamic Unity Conference on “Al-Aqsa Flood, Issues and Identity” held in the Iraqi capital Baghdad called the Operation True Promise as an anticipated promise of the Almighty God and the beginning of a new phase showing the deterrence capabilities of the Islamic nation, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He hailed the prominent martyrs of the Islamic nation namely the counter-terrorist commanders, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Muhandis, martyred in a US terrorist attack in Iraq and stressed that the martyrs sacrificed their lives for survival of the Islamic nation.
The senior Iraqi cleric noted that the Muslim nation should remember the blood that was shed to protect our Islamic unity.
Al-Alusi also lauded the key role of Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in promoting solidarity in the world of Islam.
Hosting the one-day International Islamic Unity conference in Baghdad, the chairman of al-Rebat al-Mohammadi made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the event held on Wednesday.
The Iraqi capital hosted the first Islamic unity conference in March 2023 as dozens of Muslim scholars and elites discussed the issue of Takfir (excommunication), bids for normalization with Israeli regime and the role of media in boosting Islamic unity among other topics.
