"Assafir" Lebanese Newspaper announced that the intelligence of the Lebanese Army has been able over the weekend to thwart a Large smuggling operation of medium-weapons to Syria, after it raided a neighborhood in "Tarik Jadida" in Beirut, where it managed to arrest the group that was preparing to complete the process and referred them to the military judiciary, the Lebanese Ibrahim M. and two Syrians: Asim F. and Basil K".

A judicial source said to the Newspaper that "The detainees confessed of trying to transfer those weapons into the Syrian territory in the interest of parties hostile to the Syrian regime".
