"Recognizing Palestine is important for peace," says Slovenia's ambassador to Ankara

Slovenia's ambassador to Turkey, Gorazd Renčelj, said that recognizing the State of Palestine as an equal partner of Israel, and the existence of two states negotiating to live in peace, is important for the peaceful solution of the Middle East crisis.
"Recognizing Palestine is important for peace," says Slovenia
"We have worked hard with our partners in the UN Security Council to help achieve this peaceful solution," he added.
Reminding that Slovenia is the 148th country to recognize the State of Palestine, Reinselj said: “There are still some shortcomings. We hope that this situation will encourage other countries that are studying and negotiating to do the same in the near future.”
The ambassador pointed out that it is not possible to ignore the catastrophe in Gaza and the suffering of people, especially the suffering and killing of children and women.
When asked about the International Court of Justice’s decision regarding genocide in Gaza, Renčelj pointed to the visit of his country’s Foreign Minister, Tanja Fajon, to Israel, and her impression of clear signs of genocide.
