The Gaza Media Office says the number of Palestinian journalists and media workers killed during more than nine months of Israeli atrocities against Gaza has risen to 151, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

In a brief statement on Monday, GMO said that journalist Mohamed Qasem, who worked for a local Palestinian paper and its website, was martyred in an Israeli attack.

The health ministry in Gaza said on Monday that the Israeli occupation army committed two massacres in different areas of the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, killing at least 10 civilians and injuring over 73 others.

Meanwhile the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists said over 75 percent of all journalists killed in 2023 died in Israeli atrocities against Gaza Strip.

It added that CPJ counted 77 journalists and media workers killed over the first 10 weeks of the war.

The health ministry added that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli bombardments and shooting attacks, which started on October 7, climbed to 37,347 martyrs and the number of the wounded surged to 85,372 people.

The Paris-based Reporters Without Borders said it had filed, in late May, its third complaint with the International Criminal Court regarding Israeli war crimes against journalists.

Israel has faced international condemnation amid its continued deadly offensive across Gaza Strip since a 7 October attack by the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement.

More than 37,300 Palestinians have since been killed in Gaza, most of them women and children, and more than 85,000 others injured, according to local health authorities.
