Iran’s Ahlul Bayt Assembly condemns closure of Hamburg Islamic center
Iran’s major Islamic center, Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly, has condemned Germany’s closure of the Hamburg Islamic Center (IZH) as a clear breach of freedom of religions.

Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Forum, in its statement released on Saturday, has called on the German authorities to take immediate measures in line with supporting the Muslim community in Germany, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
In part of the statement, the Iranian Islamic center, expressed in strongest terms its opposition and concern over the clear breach of religious, social and legal rights of the Muslim and Shia community in Germany demanding the officials to stand responsible for the resumption of the routine activities at Hamburg Islamic center.
With over six decades of religious activities, Imam Ali (AS) Islamic Center in Hamburg, has provided services in line with introducing the religious and Islamic teachings within the framework of solidarity, spirituality, peace and expansion of dialogue and coexistence.
According to the statement, the Islamic Center of Hamburg has been endorsed by several seminaries and religious jurists.
It has also successfully expanded scientific and academic relations with other religious centers in Germany and Europe and taken effective steps for dialogue among religions, cultures and civilizations.
The Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community announced the ban on the Islamic Center Hamburg (IZH) and its national affiliates on Wednesday.
The ban comes after German authorities raided 55 properties linked to the Islamic Center of Hamburg and closed four Shia Muslim mosques in Germany and confiscated IZH’s assets. That as the ministry did not describe any evidence relevant of illegal activities by the center has been collected.
