Supreme Leader stresses issue of "Islamic Ummah " should never be forgotten
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei called it necessary to protect the precious identity of the "Islamic Ummah".

Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met with a group of scholars, Friday prayer leaders and directors of Sunni theological schools across the country on Wednesday held on the occasion of the beginning of Unity Week and the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
"The issue of the identity of the Islamic Ummah is a fundamental issue beyond nationality, and geographical boundaries do not change the truth and identity of the Islamic Ummah," Ayatollah Khamenei stated.
Referring to the hostile efforts to make Muslims indifferent to their Islamic identity, the Supreme Leader went on to say: "It is against Islamic teachings that a Muslim is oblivious to the suffering of another Muslim in Gaza or other parts of the world."
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution called the Sunni scholars to rely on the Islamic identity and the Islamic Ummah, pointing to the historical plannings and activities of the ill-wishers to fuel religious differences in the Islamic world, especially in Iran.
"They use intellectual, propaganda and economical tools are seeking to separate Shia and Sunni in our country and any other Islamic region, and they are fueling stubbornness and discord with actions such as forcing people from both sides to slander."
Ayatollah Khamenei called the way to deal with these conspiracies to rely on unity and underscored: "The issue of unity is not a tactic but a Quranic principle."
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution expressed his regret for some actions to distort Shia and Sunni unity and said: "Of course, despite the multitude of conspiracies, our Sunni community has diligently faced these hostile motives, as evidenced by the 15,000 Sunni martyrs in the holy defense and other periods and the martyrdom of a large number of Sunni scholars in the path of truth and revolution.
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that achieving the important goal of the honor of the Islamic Ummah is possible through unity and said: "Today, one of the absolute obligations is to support the oppressed of Gaza and Palestine, and if anyone disobeys this duty, he/she will definitely be questioned before God."
