Unity can help bolster the dignity among Muslim countries, said Sheikh Ali al-Khatib at the 38th edition of the Islamic Unity Conference that kicked off in the Iranian capital Tehran today.

The atrocities in the Gaza Strip are being committed and Palestinians are displaced as the western countries back the Israeli regime, he noted.

The Islamic countries are indifferent regarding the genocidal war in the enclave, he warned.

The Lebanese scholar said that the Islamic unity is based on the orders of Allah, noting that the unity has nothing to do with the policies of the governments.

His remarks come on the first day of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference with the theme “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values with Emphasis on Issue of Palestine”.

Organized by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, the 38th Islamic Unity Conference is underway on September 19-21.
