Hamas official warns, ‘If Gaza is broken, the Zionists will go on a rampage’
A senior Hamas leader has warned the Middle East that. “If Gaza is broken today, all our capitals will be broken, and if Gaza is broken, there will be no dignity for any Arab in the region, and the Israelis will rampage, and become the masters of the region.” Mousa Abu Marzook issued his warning during a speech at a meeting of Algeria’s Movement of Society for Peace.

However, he added, things developed unexpectedly, as the Israeli army division fell in just three hours, despite there only being 1,200 resistance fighters. “This was a major blow to Israel’s prestige,” said Abu Marzook. “If it hadn’t been for the intervention of the US and Western countries to save it, Israel would not have been able to hold up all this time.”
He told the audience that the continuation of the confrontation until now reflects the Zionist entity’s desire to restore its military prestige, especially after its image was severely damaged as a result of 7 October. The resistance movement, he insisted, did not expect the fighting to continue for so long. Initial estimates suggested that it could last for two weeks or a month, similar to previous confrontations such as the 2014 Israeli offensive against the Palestinians in Gaza.
However, according to the Hamas official, Israel has insisted on restoring the deterrent factor, despite its failure to achieve its goals, whether in terms of eliminating the resistance or forced displacement. Moreover, the Zionist state’s violations of international laws and conventions, and the rules of war, said Abu Marzook, have not enabled international institutions and the international community to lift the injustices imposed on the Palestinian people.
He reminded the people of Algeria that their freedom would not have come about without resistance in the face of a brutal foreign occupation.
One of the major achievements of Al-Aqsa Flood, he claimed, albeit coming at a high price, is that the normalisation process has been stopped. “This entity [Israel] is no longer just rejected in the region, but also by most countries of the world and even the UN Security Council and General Assembly.”
Abu Marzook told Algeria’s AL24 News that stopping normalisation between Israel and Saudi Arabia was another of the objectives of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
