In a statement issued by Sistan and Baluchistan governorate, a day of mourning has been announced on Sunday over an attack by Jaish ul-Adl terrorist group, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The funeral procession of the martyrs of the terror attack in Sistan and Baluchistan will be laid to rest on Sunday.

The Iranian security forces were martyred in an ambush by terrorists on the way back from a mission in Taftan County.

The counter-terror unit of Iran’s Law Enforcement has detained one terrorist linked to the incident and further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations has called on the Security Council to vehemently condemn the recent deadly terrorist attack on a police convoy in southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan Province killing ten police officers.

Amir Saeid Iravani said in a letter to the UN chief and the Security Council’s president on Saturday that the foreign-backed terrorist group with close links to Daesh has a long record of attacks on innocent Iranian civilians and policemen, and thus its acts of terror require immediate and unequivocal denunciation by the international community.
