In response to the Hebrew report, Hezbollah issued a statement warning Israel against violating the terms of the deal and called on the Lebanese political authority to pressure the countries sponsoring the agreement to act effectively to ensure its implementation.
Under the terms of the deal concluded on 27 November, Israeli occupation forces are required to withdraw from all positions in southern Lebanon, allowing the Lebanese Armed Forces to take over by 26 January.
At the same time, Hezbollah is required to retreat north of the Litani River, some 30 kilometres from the border with Israel.
Hezbollah emphasised in its statement that Israel must “fully withdraw” from areas it had occupied while Lebanese troops must be deployed on every inch of Lebanese territory, allowing residents to return quickly to their villages, and not giving any excuses or pretexts for prolonging occupation.
Hezbollah warned that any breach of the 60-day deadline will be considered “a blatant violation of the agreement and an ongoing infringement of Lebanese sovereignty.
Israeli occupation forces committed seven violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon yesterday, bringing the total number of violations since the deal went into effect 58 days ago to 639, according to Lebanon’s official news agency.
