Some 150,000 Palestinians were displaced from Gaza’s central city of Khan Younis in just one day, UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said yesterday.

Dujarric noted that 150,000 individuals were forced to flee Khan Yunis on Monday, adding that they had to escape without taking any belongings with them and that there is no infrastructure in the areas to which they have fled.
On Monday, Israel issued orders for Palestinians in the eastern neighbourhoods of Khan Yunis to “evacuate immediately” and move to the newly established ‘humanitarian zone’ in Al-Mawasi, west of the city.
Since 7 October 2023, Israel, with US support, has been waging a war on Gaza, resulting in over 129,000 Palestinian casualties, the majority of whom are women and children, with more than 10,000 reported missing amid extensive destruction and a severe famine.
Tel Aviv continues this war, disregarding two UN Security Council resolutions calling for an immediate ceasefire and orders from the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent genocide, and improve the dire humanitarian situation in the Strip.
