In his daily press briefing, Dujarric highlighted that “Each Israeli evacuation order profoundly disrupts people’s lives.” He emphasised that the Israeli army’s demand for rapid evacuations, communicated via leaflets with short intervals prior to attacks, “posed significant risks to those fleeing.”

Prior to 7 October, the city in the southern part of the Gaza Strip had a population of more than 200,000 people, including about 100,000 children.

Civil defense teams reported that the recovery efforts are ongoing at the moment to retrieve the bodies of potential victims in both areas, where Israeli troops pulled out in recent days after several weeks of deadly ground attacks.
