He stated that "my father achieved what he wished for", and emphasized that Hamas will continue to resist until the liberation of Palestine.
Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas's political bureau, was assassinated on Wednesday morning in Tehran while attending the swearing-in ceremony of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
According to reports from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Haniyeh was targeted during a raid on his residence, resulting in his death along with that of a bodyguard.
Hamas has attributed the assassination to an Israeli operation, labeling it a "cowardly attack" and warning of severe repercussions.
The incident follows a series of threats from Israel against Hamas leaders in the wake of the group's October 7 attacks, which resulted in significant casualties.
The IRGC confirmed the attack and stated that an investigation is underway. While Israel has not officially commented on the incident, speculation regarding its involvement is widespread, given its history of targeting Hamas leaders.
