Major General Hossein Salami made a statement on Sunday to commemorate the National Day of the Fight Against Global Arrogance, also known as National Student Day. This day marks the 1979 takeover of the U.S. Embassy by Iranian university students in Tehran.

During a speech in Mashhad, Salami highlighted the changed dynamics of U.S. power compared to its status two to three decades ago, citing the 1979 U.S. embassy takeover as a pivotal moment.

Speaking at a conference in Abadan, Salami added: "The enemy's goal is to tire and frustrate our people, turn our history upside down, and erase our identity, and this is a fact".
