Iran, Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry top officials discussed the embassy shooting incident in Tehran calling for speedy completion of the case.

In a phone call on Saturday evening between Ebrahim Raisi and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the condolences of the Iranian government and people for the accident at the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran was expressed.

Attending a joint press conference after meeting with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Jeyhun Bayramov stated: "Bilateral talks were held and according to the political will of the two countries, we had a 30% increase in the volume of relations, but the existing capacities are more."

Javad Oji, who is in Azerbaijan to attend Baku Energy Week, on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikhail Jabbarov.

Iran and Azerbaijan have a long-standing relationship and in recent years have taken extensive steps to deepen their relations in various fields.

The document was signed by Rahman Hummatov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Kheirullah Khademi, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, in Baku on Tuesday.
