"Today, Turkmenistan began the process of joining this agreement," Meredov said at a briefing on Friday following an international conference of transport ministers from landlocked countries that was held in the Central Asian country on August 15-16.
In the first part of his plans during the visit to Turkmenistan to attend the Sixth Summit of the Caspian Sea Littoral States, Ebrahim Raisi met with Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
The agreement was made during a meeting of Batyr Atdayev, the Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government overseeing the country’s trade and textile complex, with the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Reza Fatemi-Amin in Tehran on Tuesday.
Ebrahim Raisi, in a telephone call with Turkmen President Serdar Berdymukhamedov on Tuesday afternoon, congratulated him and the people of his country on Eid al-Fitr, and said: “May lasting peace be bestowed on the government, the nation, the neighbor, and all the nations of the world.”
