President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been announced by the head of Turkey’s election board as the winner of the runoff vote 2023.

Polling stations have opened in Turkey as people cast their votes for the second time in two weeks to elect the next leader of the state for the next five years.

Turkey’s election body said the country will head for run-off as the incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has slightly fallen short of garnering the 50% of votes necessary to maintain his seat.
