At least 267 killed, hundreds injured in Israeli attacks on schools sheltering displaced people in Gaza since last month, rights group says

A human rights monitor has documented a concerning surge in the Israeli regime targeting of the schools sheltering displaced Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip as the regime bombed as many as 16 schools in a span of one month.

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees has reported that 70 percent of the UNRWA schools have been ‘destroyed or damaged’ in over eleven months of Israeli bombings across the besieged Gaza Strip.

The Palestinians Ministry of Education announced more than 8,672 Palestinian students have been killed and 14,583 others wounded since Israeli regime began its genocidal war on the besieged Gaza Strip on October 7.

More than 76 percent of the schools in Gaza should reportedly be ‘rebuilt or restored’ in order to operate again due to the incessant Israeli strikes that has left a trail of destruction in the besieged strip.

Nearly one hundred prominent European academics have denounced Israeli regime over its systematic destruction of the educational system in the Gaza Strip.

The media office of Gaza has announced that as a result of Israel’s onslaughts against the Gaza Strip since the beginning of al-Aqsa Storm more than 203 schools have been destroyed.

The Council of State said it had rejected an appeal by a Muslim rights group against the government ban announced last month on abaya, a loose-fitting, full-length robe worn by some Muslim students in schools. The Court said the ban was not discriminatory towards Muslims.
