Iranian jurisprudent warns:

“Takfir, predicament of current era”

Prominent jurisprudent called Takfir (excommunication) as the challenge Muslim world and the whole human society is harassed with calling that as the worst predicament in the present era.
“Takfir, predicament of current era”
Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, senior Shia jurisprudent has issued a message addressing the conference on repercussions of Takfir and mission of Muslim scholars in the northern city of Gonbad-e Kavus calling Takfir as the most important challenge for the world of Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said Takfir has harassed not only the world of Islam but also the whole human society challenging that with four issues, first massacre, fratricide and bloodshed.

The cleric counted destruction as the second issue where Syria, Yemen and parts of Iraq have turned into complete debris which will not be reconstructed in less than half a century.

According to Ayatollah Makarem the third harassment by Takfiri groups is division when true Islam calls all to monotheism, solidarity and union.

He said,” These Takfiri groups have sown the seeds of hostility and hypocrisy in the world of Islam. They have not only divided Shia and Sunni but also reject Sunni community under the pretext that anyone out of Wahhabism is out of religion and to loot his property, enslave his family and shed his blood is permitted.”

The fourth issue, which is by far the most important, is that they have stained the image of Islam with violence providing enough grounds for Islamophobic movements to project Islam as the religion of violence.

Senior cleric noted that Islam is the religion of future world when Takfiri groups are isolated.

Ayatollah Makarem called Muslim scholars to join each other and prove that Takfiri groups are out of true Islam.

He referred to Chechnya conference where top Sunni elites in a unanimous poll rejected Wahhabism as a Sunni denomination raising the ire of Wahhabi movement.

Calling both Shia and Sunni communities to maintain solidarity and safeguard the image of Islam, top Iranian figure demanded that previous friendly ties, peace and affection be revived among Muslims.
