The world ceremonies for Nowruz, Persian New Year, have begun in the Iranian city of Hamedan. Secretary of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) attended the ceremony held at the mausoleum of top Iranian polymath, Avicenna, in Hamedan as artistic groups from across Iran performed in this ceremony.
