A variety of programs have been presented at the opening ceremony of the festival held at the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) in Tehran on June 30, 2013.

Venezuelan Ambassador to Tehran Amenhotep Zambrano along with several other officials from both countries attended the ceremony.

“A group of Iranian and Venezuelan musicians is programmed to perform joint programs during the event,” IAF director Majid Sarsangi announced.

The Venezuelan musicians will introduce their ethnic music through playing special instruments.

The event is also hosting photos, Venezuelan handicrafts and cuisines during an exhibition.

Film screenings programs representing Iranian and Venezuelan cinematic productions will also be presented at the festival.

The Spanish version of the ancient Iranian poet Ferdowsi’s epic masterpiece The Shahnameh was recently displayed at the Venezuela pavilion during the 26th Tehran International Book Fair in May, Sarsangi noted.

Translated by Beatriz De Salas, the book will help the Spanish-speaking nations become more acquainted with Persian literature, he added.

Venezuela cultural festival will host the visitors until July 5, 2013.
