Official condemns offence of religions

Head of Iranian cultural center blasts offence towards Islam and Christianity, terming any desecration of the religions as an offence towards human dignity.

Head of the Organization of Culture and Islamic Communications, Mohammad Baqer Khorramshad slams offence towards Muslims and Christians as disrespecting human dignity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

In the third round of interfaith dialogue held in the Organization of the Culture and Islamic Communication, Iranian head of the organization referred to the bomb attack of the Muslims in the mourning ceremony of Ashura in the south eastern city of Chabahar as an outstanding example of disrespect of the religions.

In the meeting attended by the pontiff board of Sweden, Mohammad Baqir Khorramshad quoted Imam Ali (AS) that "People are either brother to you in religion or peer to you in as a creature" hence everybody is respectable.

As an answer to the question if western people are more respectable than the eastern, he said, "World body has to give an answer to this question and that are all people equal or some are more equal? Also the reason why the world of contemporary man prefers an atheist to a pious believer or the reason why pious people are mocked?

Bringing several examples from the holy Qur'an on human dignity, head of Iran's Organization of Culture and Islamic Communication said man is so much transcended that he represents God on the earth.

Third round of interfaith dialogue was a one-day-summit held in the Iranian capital Tehran with the theme of "Human Dignity in Islam and Christianity".
