"Christian thinkers assimilate sacrifices by Imam Hussein to Jesus Christ"

Syrian Christian writer, Antoine Bara, hailed the third Shia Imam in a webinar held concurrent with Muharram mourning ceremonies and highlighted the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS) as an exemplary movement and an Islamic role model.

The Kuwait-based author of "Imam Hussein in Christian Ideology" said," The outlook of Christian thinkers on Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam is similar to their view on Jesus Christ (PBUH) and sacrifices he made for his nation", reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
"Imam Hussein (AS), as his mission demanded, found the issues in his nation and rulers of the time who viewed power as a riding horse to achieve their ambitions" said the Christian thinker.
 
He noted that the Christian intellectuals found out the greatness of sacrifice made by Imam Hussein (AS) in common with their prophet saying," This is the very criterion pursued merely by the chosen people."
 
He referred to the role of Christian intellectuals serving the objectives of Imam Hussein (AS), deeper understanding and expansion of the valuable meanings in his uprising.
 
Syrian Christian author, Antoine Bara has also written a book on Hazrat Zeynab (AS), sister and close companion of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam in the Battle of Karbala.
 
The webinar on "Ashura in Christian ideology" was held concurrent with Muharram mourning ceremonies which mark the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions in the Battle of Karbala back in 680 AD.
