Huj. Qazi Askar appointed as chairman of Islamic unity center’s supreme council
Hujjat-ul-Islam Seyyed Ali Qazi Askar has been appointed as the chairman of the supreme council at Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought at the 216th meeting of the council held on Saturday.

Led by Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has held the 216th meeting of its supreme council on Saturday to appoint its new chairman, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Hujjat-ul-Islam Seyyed Ali Qazi Askar, Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari and members of the supreme council participated in this meeting to appoint the new chairman and discuss the 34th Islamic Unity Conference and also the construction of Islamic Proximity research center.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Seyyed Ali Qazi, aged 64, senior Shia cleric had served as the Supreme Leader’s representative and superintendent of Iran’s Hajj affairs by the decree of Ayatollah Khamenei for 10 years.
216th meeting of the supreme council of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has appointed the cleric as the chairman of its Supreme Council, a position held by late Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri who passed away in mid-August 2020.
