As the COVID-related death toll declines, Jordan has lifted the social distancing in mosques on the eve of the fasting month of Ramadan.

Faisal al-Shaboul, Jordan's State Minister for Media Affairs, announced that as the number of COVID-related death toll has declined the country will lift social distancing in mosques during the upcoming month of Ramadan, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The decision has been made following a meeting of the authorities discussing the conditions for communal prayers and other ceremonies during the month of Ramadan.
He stressed," Despite lifting the social distancing, worshippers must wear masks particularly in closed areas."
Faisal al-Shaboul also said that public Iftar meals will be held in mosques and other places.
All mosques have been closed in Ramadan during the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic though the decline of deaths mosques have reopened and social distancing has been lifted as part of measures to protect against the pandemic infection.
