Germany to host seminar on “Islam in Modern World”
Islamic Center of Hamburg in collaboration with the Islamic Academy of Germany will be hosting international seminar on “Islam in Modern World” on July 11.

A number of prominent lecturers and researchers will deliver speech on the conditions and challenges of Islam in contemporary world at the seminar to be co-hosted by the Islamic Center of Hamburg and Islamic Academy of Germany, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Professor Mohammad Legenhausen, American professor of philosophy at the University of Qom will deliver speech on “Islamic Theology and New Discourse Challenges” and Doctor Saeedeh Gheravi, professor assistant also from the University of Qom will speak on “Islam and Women; Traditional and Modern Approaches.”
Other lecturers at the seminary include Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hadi Mofatteh, professor assistance from Qom University and the manager of Islamic Center to be speaking on “Democracy and Popular Satisfaction in the Political Philosophy of Islam” as well as Doctor Younes Nourbakhsh, member of the academic board at the University of Tehran to express his views on “Islam, Modernity and Development: Analysis of Approaches by Shia thinkers.”
The Islamic Center Hamburg is one of the oldest Shia mosques in Germany and European bloc. Established in northern German city of Hamburg in the late 1950s by a group of Iranian Muslim emigrants and business people it rapidly developed to one of the key Shia centers in the West.
