Cholera in Afghanistan on rise

The Spokesman of the Taliban's Ministry of Health says due to the unprecedented heat wave, a number of Afghan provinces are facing an outbreak of cholera.

Zaman said that providing healthcare services was ongoing in Helmand and Kandahar provinces to the patients with the medical teams being settled in the two provinces. 

The spokesman added that the patients were under treatment, and the health ministry was trying to stop the spread of the disease. 
He called on the people to use healthy drinking water and avoid heat exposure.
Afghan sources report that 6,000 people have so far been infected with cholera.
