Cleric calls coop among Muslim world scholars

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought highlighted cooperation among Muslim world scholars as way to confront hostile propaganda by enemies.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari in a meeting with Mohammed Abdul Sattar, Syria’s Minister of Awqaf highlighted importance of cooperation among Muslim clerics across the globe in a bid to foil the plots against the world of Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said,” Muslims scholars from different countries should visit religious institutions, cultural and scientific centers and seminaries in other countries and exchange views with clerics regarding the Muslim world issues.”
 
The cleric hailed the coexistence of different denominations in the Islamic Republic of Iran and called the country as a model to show peaceful life of Muslims from different schools of thought.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islamc Shahriari noted that the best way to foil the anti-Islam propaganda is to expand cooperation among Muslim scholars in different countries and proposed meeting of the Sunni clerics in different countries to be hosted by Islamic Republic of Iran.
 
Still in another part of his remarks, the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought proposed a conference of resistance scholars to be held in Syria for the clerics to discuss their viewpoints.
 
Syria’s Minister of Awqaf for his part lauded the measures taken by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in line with promoting Islamic unity calling Muslims as brothers to each other.
 
He stressed importance of cooperation and unity among different Islamic states and noted,” We believe that Islamic Republic of Iran is in pursuit of solidarity among all Islamic countries and not converting Sunni Muslims to Shia.”
 
Secretary General of Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought met with top Syrian cleric in part of his trip to Syria.
