“Regional Islamic Unity Conference in Golestan aims to foil plots”, Huj. Shahriari
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought warned of the intrigues hatched against the Islamic Republic as the key reason for the second Regional Islamic Unity Conference to be held in Golestan.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari in a special bulletin televised on Golestan province channel referred to the hostile plots against the Islamic Republic and said the upcoming international conference held in Iran’s northern province aims to foil these plots, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said,” We planned the second regional Islamic unity conference to be held in Golestan and our key objective is to foil the hostile plots to divide Islamic denominations during the past 44 years” stressing that the regional Islamic unity conferences are prelude to the annual Islamic Unity Conference held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
The cleric noted that the first regional Islamic unity conference was successfully held in Kurdistan Province and similar meetings will follow in any region with proper grounds for boosting solidarity among Islamic denominations.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari assimilated Golestan Province to a colorful orchard of different ethnicities home to different denominations during the post-revolution era.
He said,” Islamic Republic of Iran has successfully introduced a model of coexistence to the world people and provided the grounds for advancement of the ethnical groups in Golestan Province.”
According to the senior cleric nearly 600 Shia and Sunni elites from across Iran and the neighboring countries Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and other neighboring countries will participate in the second Regional Islamic Unity Conference.
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought also related on the objectives of the major Islamic unity center for creating the new Islamic civilization.
He said,” The new Islamic civilization demands certain grounds and we should be able to introduce proper examples to the world illustrating a Shia-run system which facilitates freedom of thoughts and lifestyle for other denominations.”
According to the cleric new Islamic civilization is formed when absolute freedom is provided for all denominations and they can not only lead their own style of life but also promote their ideologies in their schools.
He counted cooperation and mutual collaboration among denominations as a necessity for new Islamic civilization and added,” If the Islamic ruling system provides the grounds for capabilities of different denominations to be introduced, then all of them will follow the new Islamic civilization.”
Top cleric also referred to the role of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in promoting Islamic unity across the globe and said,” If we can provide a proper role model in our country, then we can call for proposals for “unified ummah” across the globe.”
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari touched upon ways to confront Islamophobia and stressed,” This is a project developed after the Islamic Revolution as the world arrogant powers felt threats in front of the high ideologies of Imam Khomeini (RA) and began nurturing extremist Islamist groups like Qaeda and ISIL in order to introduced Islam as a religion of violence and terror.”
He said,” Beating the US brainchild, ISIL terrorist group, is a beginning point to show the merciful image of Islam to the world people.”
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought made the comments on the second regional Islamic Unity Conference in a television interview on Golestan province local channel.
