Religious freedom, prelude to establishment of new Islamic civilization

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari in his speech at the second Regional Islamic Unity Conference held in Gorgan on Wednesday called for logical reaction to followers of other denominations and stressed freedom f religions is the beginning step towards establishment of the new Islamic civilization, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He enumerated the three duties upon all Muslims in relation to the Islamic unity as:

1- Discussing unity and theoretically explaining solidarity and unified Islamic nation
2- Practicing unity
3- Beating the monophony of division

The cleric warned that the concept of unity is sometimes undermined on the side of the Islamic countries.

According to the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, rationality-based methods are the first way to confront the opposite voices and that creating a logical discourse which maintains the rights of other denominations should be on top of the agenda.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari noted,” If we intend to establish a new Islamic civilization then we should maintain the right to freedom of religions, contain our emotions and prevent any emotional confrontation with followers of other denominations.”

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought said the third step in reaction to the opposite side is to prevent oppressing him.

” We should not let Takfir (excommunication) and terror to spread in our society” he said and called for confrontation with those taking measure against the Islamic system.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari concluded that this is a mission upon all to change the threats to opportunities.
