Iraqi cleric calls for proximity between Qom-Najaf seminaries
The leader of the National Wisdom Movement of Iraq, Seyyed Ammar al-Hakim, stressed proximity of Qom and Najaf seminaries as beneficial for Islam and followers of Ahlul Bayt (AS) across the globe.

Seyyed Ammar al-Hakim met with Ayatollah Alireza A’rafi, manager of Iran seminaries to stress the historical relations between Iran and Iraq and the seminaries in holy cities of Qom and Najaf saying proximity between the two religious academies will benefit followers of Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The clerics also discussed the developments in Iraq and positive outcomes including the peaceful transition of power and advancements made in political, cultural, social and security arena.
Ammar al-Hakim highlighted the fatwa (religious statement) by prominent Shia jurist, Ayatollah Sistani for defeat of terrorism, the sacrifices made by Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) as well as other Iraqi security groups in liberation of Iraq from ISIL terrorism.
Leader of the National Wisdom Movement of Iraq also lauded the Islamic Republic of Iran for assisting Iraq in counter-terrorism campaign.
