According to Iran’s Red Crescent Society, 60 tons of humanitarian aid including sanitary and medical supplies has been sent from the capital Tehran to Egypt on Friday, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The aid will reach the war-stricken Gaza Strip through the Rafah Crossing. Iran’s Red Crescent Society had announced preparation for sending aids for the besieged Palestinians under Israeli attacks.

Pir Hossein Koulivand, head of Iran’s Red Crescent Society also stressed that negotiations are underway for setting up three makeshift hospitals in Rafah crossing.

A 20-truck convoy of life-saving supplies including medicine and limited amounts of food will be received by the Palestinian Red Crescent in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Rafah is the main route in and out of the Gaza Strip that is not controlled by Israel, and the focus of efforts to deliver aid to the 2.3 million Palestinians in the besieged enclave.
Israel imposed a total blockade and launched air strikes on Gaza after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas launched attack on the occupied territories on October 7.
