The representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in the West Bank and Gaza has urged for reopening of the Rafah crossing as two thousand patients in the besieged Strip are in dire need of medical evacuation.

“Since May 7, at least 2,000 people have been unable to leave Gaza to receive medical care,” said Peeperkorn, adding that there are at least 10,000 people in urgent need of evacuation and called for more crossings to open to facilitate their exit.
