“Late Hasan Bitmez is a martyr in path of enlightenment”
A senior Iranian cleric has lauded the Turkish MP, Hasan Bitmez, as a treasure Muslim world lost and called him a martyr in the path of enlightening the world people on issue of Palestine.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, speaking at the commemoration ceremony held for Hasan Bitmez, said,” All of us can be a voice for the world of Islam and the issue of Palestine but the late Turkish MP fulfilled his responsibility to the last moment of his life”, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He noted that, rather than his political activities, Islamic unity and solidarity among world Muslims was a major concern for the late Turkish scholar, Hasan Bitmez.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari detailed the different types of Jihad (struggle in the path of God) in view of Islam and said,” The present war in Palestine is defensive and mandatory as the enemy has intruded into the houses and forced them to evacuate their homes.”
According to the Iranian cleric, Israel is seeking expulsion of the Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan and said,” Qur’an would question those who remain neutral to forced expulsion of other Muslims” adding,” Jihad is a solution to achieve justice, a value higher than peace.”
He said,” We advocate peace but a peace that ends to justice though Islam recommends waging war against oppressors in order not to submit to enemies.”
The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought continued,” When not all people afford to attend the battle ground, then they should contribute with their possessions be it financial or verbal.”
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari reiterated the responsibility of all Muslims in regards to the issue of Palestine and said,” Late Hasan Bitmez fulfilled his responsibility to the last moment of his life.”
The cleric added that the ongoing war in Gaza will remain a landmark in history and added,” In the cradle of liberalism and Islamophobia, millions of people hold rallies in support of Palestine because so much blood has been shed and this bloodshed has led to enlightenment of the world people.”
Top Iranian scholar made the comments in the commemoration ceremony held in the Iranian capital Tehran on Wednesday.
A member of Turkey’s Felicity Party, Hasan Bitmez, suffered heart attack during a fiery speech against Israeli war on Gaza. The MP passed away two days after the incident.
In his final speech before heart attack, he blasted the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his AKP party for maintaining trade ties with Israeli regime amid its genocidal war against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.
