Ayat. Khamenei leads funeral prayer for assassinated Hamas leader

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, led the prayer over the body of assassinated leader of Hamas resistance movement, Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

Thousands of people in the Iranian capital attended the massive funeral procession held for the politburo leader of the Palestinian movement who was assassinated at his residence in Tehran on Wednesday, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Top Iranian officials and military commanders attended the ceremony held at Tehran University on Thursday morning before the body of Ismail Haniyeh was carried to Qatar for burial.
 
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced the martyrdom of Hamas leader together with his body guard Wasim Abu Shaaban early on Wednesday morning.
 
In a message issued by the Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei said  the Israeli regime provided the grounds for its punishment adding that revenge for murder of a guest in the Islamic Republic’s territories is a mission upon us.
 
Hamas leader was among the guests who were in the Iranian capital Tehran to attend the inaugural ceremony of the newly-elected President Masoud Pezeshkian.
