Senior Iranian Sunni scholar stresses:

“Mutual respect among denominations will boost Islamic solidarity”

The director of Aqqala Seminary in Iran’s Golestan province, speaking at the fifth webinar of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference, emphasized importance of mutual respect among members of the Islamic nation as has been the recommendation of the holy book of Islam and the lifestyle of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

 Abdul Razaq Rahbar said that to follow the recommendation of the prophet of Islam will lead to solidarity in the Islamic ummah, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He made the comments at an online meeting of the Shia and Sunni scholars held in the first section of the annual conference held by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
 
Less than a month to the first anniversary of the Israeli genocidal war on the besieged Gaza Strip, the theme for this edition of the conference is “Islamic cooperation to achieve common values with an emphasis on the Palestinian issue".
 
The Friday prayer leader of Aqqala underlined the importance of piety in the hierarchy among members of the Islamic nation.
 
The comments by Iranian Sunni cleric came in an address to the Shia and Sunni scholars from across the globe in the first section of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference on September 14-20.
 
The second section of the conference is scheduled to be held in the Iranian capital Tehran on September 19-21, with hundreds of prominent Muslim leaders and political figures in attendance.
