“An Islamic awakening necessary in defense of Palestine”

The Friday prayer leader of Mahabad County in northwestern Iran said an Islamic awakening is needed in order to defend the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Mamusta Abdussalam Imami stressed that the issue of Palestine has the capability to unite Muslims across the globe, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The Iranian scholar made the comments in his speech at the webinar of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
 
He hailed the global pro-Palestine protests despite the international efforts to silence the demonstrators.
 
The Iranian Sunni cleric also lauded Lebanon, Yemen and Iran for standing against the Israeli regime crimes urging other Islamic states for more support for the Palestinians amid the regime atrocities.
 
Mamusta Abdussalam said the unprecedented October 7 attack by the resistance surprised every one as has the perseverance of the Gazans.
 
The prominent Iranian cleric, Mamustan Abdussalam Imami, made the remarks in the online section of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference entitled "Islamic cooperation to achieve common values with an emphasis on the Palestinian issue".
 
The second part of the annual event has been scheduled to be held in the Iranian capital Tehran on September 19-21.
 
The conference is annually held by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought concurrent with the Islamic Unity Week that marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
