“Defense for Palestinian nation unites Muslims”, Afghan cleric

An Afghan Sunni cleric highlighted importance of the Palestine issue stressing that the objective of liberating Palestine can unite world Muslims.

Maulavi Bismillah Sharifi, speaking at the 12th webinar of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference called Islamic unity as the basis and not a strategy to converge Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He quoted the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA), calling al-Quds as hear of Islam and urged the world Muslims to mobilize and spare no effort to help the ‘heart of Islam’.
 
The Afghan cleric noted the widespread global reactions to the ongoing genocide of the Palestinians by Israeli regime particularly in the western counties whose governments remain the staunch allies of the Israeli regime in its killing campaign in Gaz for the past eleven months.
 
The senior Afghan cleric made the remarks in an address to a webinar of the Sunni and Shia scholars across the globe in the first section of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference.
 
The second section of the conference entitled Afghan entitled "Islamic cooperation to achieve common values with an emphasis on the Palestinian issue" is scheduled to be held in the Iranian capital Tehran on September 19-21.
