The senior Shia jurist, Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani, says the Israeli war on Gaza is a flagrant instance of the regime’s aim to massacre of the Muslims.

The top cleric made the remark in a message addressing the 38th Islamic Unity Conference underway in the Iranian capital Tehran, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
In his message the cleric warned against the Zionists constantly plotting to spark division in the Islamic nation.
 
He said, “The Gaza war is a flagrant instance how the Israeli regime and its allies are massacring Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.”
 
He called on all Islamic denominations to emphasize the commonalities of the all Islamic schools of thought in the curriculum of their seminaries in an effort to boost Islamic unity.”
 
The 38th Islamic Unity Conference is underway in Tehran with hundreds of Shia and Sunni clerics in attendance to exchange views on the developments of the Muslim world.
 
With the theme "Islamic cooperation to achieve common values with an emphasis on the Palestinian issue" the ongoing war in the besieged Gaza Strip remains the highlight of the event.
