Amnesty International said in a statement on Monday that it is deeply concerned about the fate of the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, Hussam Abu Safiya, and called for his immediate and unconditional release.
The organization added that Israel must immediately release all arbitrarily detained Palestinians, especially health workers, noting the need for the international community to act urgently to end the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
The health workers at Kamal al-Adwan Hospital were detained on Friday following Israeli burning of the medical facility after the forced evacuation of the patients and destruction of critical facilities.
Kamal al-Adwan was one of the two functioning hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip providing medical care for thousands of the Palestinians in the besieged strip.
