According to the report, such casings are commonly found throughout Gaza.
Hala Rharrit, a former State Department employee who resigned last April over Washington's support for Israel’s actions in Gaza, expressed her concerns during the broadcast.
"What is happening in Gaza would not be able to happen without US arms. That’s without a doubt," she said, describing scenes of devastation and the overwhelming toll on children.
Rharrit was stationed in Dubai on Oct. 7 last year. Part of her job was to monitor Arab press and social media to document how America's role in the Gaza war was perceived in the Middle East.
She recalled being reprimanded by colleagues for attempting to display images of children suffering from starvation and airstrikes.
Rharrit also shared an emotional account of seeing a report about a young girl killed in an airstrike, juxtaposed with a photo of the child in a princess dress smiling and waving a wand.
"I saw my child in that child," she said.
Since Oct. 7, 2023, Israel’s military campaign in Gaza has reportedly claimed over 46,500 lives, most of them women and children, despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November last year for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
