Earlier last month, Minister Ghosn warned Syrian authorities that members of Al Qaeda were infiltrating Syria through the Lebanese town of Arssal.

"The army has reports about the presence of Al Qaeda in the eastern border town of Arssal," stated head of Marada Movement."

The attack on Minister [Ghosn] is an indirect attack on the military institution to hinder its role," he added. On that note, he urged the army to take action in that regard and halt terrorists in their track.

Frangieh openly endorsed the Baath regime, while maintaining that his Movement would not take any measures at the expense of Lebanon.
