The threat against Lebanon and the region is Israel

The MP, who was speaking in Adloun town in the south, wondered why the animosity towards Israel shifted to Syria and Iran, noting that some quarters are intentionally focusing on inter-Arab struggle, Persian-Sunni struggle and Shiite-Sunni struggle.

He also asked why some Arab countries ignore or even forget the occupation of Palestine, Golan Heights and some parts of Lebanon.

"This (campaign) is obviously orchestrated and planned by the United States, the West and Israel so that no country in the region which harbors ill will towards Israel or supports the resistance exist. They (West) are targeting Syria because it supports the resistance, Palestine and Lebanon."

He called on all parties in Lebanon to cement national unity and coexistence in order to weather the negative effects of the events in the region.

In a related context, Hezbollah categorically deplored UN Chief Ban Ki-moon's curtailing of the outcome of his visit to the region by giving shortened briefings on the situation in the Middle East at the Security Council monthly session. Hezbollah considered such a shortening attempt a new proof of the UN's bias towards the interests of super colonial countries and their schemes.

Hezbollah's words came in a statement it issued on Thursday, whereby the Party indicated that Ban's curtailed briefings in his report to the Security Council monthly session on the situation in the Middle East, came void of highly dangerous matters on world peace and security, such as Zionists criminal practices against the Palestinian people and measures to judaize the holy Jerusalem and Israeli settlements.

Hezbollah considered that Ban's overlooking of the development of situation in the occupied Palestine during the Security Council session, a proof that this Council has been rendered a plain platform for super international powers' policies and the Zionist's entity to settle accounts and implement conspiracy plots against the region.
