Inverted Domino of toppling new governments in the Middle East and Northern Africa

By: Ahmad Kazemzadeh
Tunisia, following the self-immolation of unemployed Mohammad Bouazizi, turned into the beginning point in domino for topple of dictator Arab governments, now is facing an inverted domino for topple of Brotherhood governments.
Inverted Domino of toppling new governments in the Middle East and Northern Africa
Although the tensions between ruling Ennahda Movement, affiliated with Muslim Brotherhood, and its opposite forces have been underway since months ago, parallel to tensions between pro and anti Morsi protests in Egypt, during the past days particularly following the assassination of Mohammad Brahimi, Secretary General of popular movements and opposition politician has entered a new phase, when 42 members of Tunisia Constituent Assembly stopped working and demanded for cancelation of Parliament and formation of a national salvation front.

While Tunisian government condemns Takfiri groups for assassination of Brahimi, opposition side blames the government for assassination of both Brahimi and Shukri Beleed, member of Democratic Nationalist Movement, happening six months ago.

In fact, since Morsi government and Muslim Brotherhood were sacked in a soft coup by Egyptian army and a new path was planned for the political system of the country, a new life has been injected into the veins of Tunisian opposition forces inspiring them to follow the model of Egypt’s salvation army and Tamarod Movement who formed a coalition and paved the way for topple of Morsi government. They started to launch such organization in Tunisia.

Therefore, regarding the mutual interaction between changes in Egypt and Tunisia and that the changes in Egypt seem to be based on a preplanned project, changes in Tunisia seem to have entered a critical phase, too.

If there was any doubt in the project nature of the first domino back in 2010, there is no doubt in the project form of inverted domino now because its players are almost known and the topple domino seems to be a brainchild of a think-tank of losers in the first domino. It is the money from Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, players from previous regimes of Mubarak and Bin Ali and also western and Zionist management that have the first word here.

If the topple domino of 2010 started in Tunisia and spread into other Arab states in Northern Africa and the Middle East, the inverted domino started from Turkey, which was supposed to be a spiritual leader and a model for Brotherhood governments. It continued to resignation of Sheikh Bin Hamad Al Thani, former Qatari Emir and a regional financial supporter of Muslim Brotherhood and a little later resignation of Morsi government and Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, white coup by the army. Now it has harassed Tunisia.

The major loser of 2010 domino were the Arab dictators (Bin Ali, Hosni Mubarak, Qaddafi, Ali Abdullah Salih) and their regional supporters particularly Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates while the major winners include Muslim Brotherhood and its regional allies, one of them Turkey.

This is while quite opposite to the winners and losers of the inverted domino stand the losers of the original one; hence, the inverted domino can be called a brainchild of the former domino, survivors of Mubarak, Bin Ali governments and their regional supporters including Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

This inverted domino seems to be continued as far as the interests of its players, especially Saudi Arabia is guaranteed.
