Reading the statement on “Situation in Afghanistan” before the United Nations Security Council Majid Takht Ravanchi said, “According to the UN reports, more than 24 million people need humanitarian aid, and half of the population face acute hunger. Furthermore, over 9 million people are displaced.”

Majid Takht Ravanchi added on Saturday night: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, as an active member of the United Nations, has always been committed to paying its membership dues on time, and we have proven this in practice."

The Israeli security forces systematically killed the Palestinian children, and in 2021, 86 Palestinian children were killed in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, the highest since 2014. 

Tehran has lost its voting rights at the UN for the second year in a row as it faces hurdles in making payments due to US sanctions.
