“The Islamic revolution of Iran, a unique revolution”, Religious scholar

Sheikh Shuaib Booley, chairperson of Ahlulbayt (AS) Islamic Council of South Africa in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) conducted on Islamic Revolution of Iran, said: “The Islamic revolution of Iran undoubtedly is a unique revolution."

He described that for many years Iran was under the yoke of imperialism, colonialism and the puppet Pahlavi regime. Finally Imam Khomeini came to create a divine system for Iran.

Noting that Imam Khomeini had the idea of Islamic revolution, he said: “This phrase ‘Islamic revolution’ is a new phrase that came into the social political vocabulary of the world."

"Ayatollah Mottahari said ‘Imam Khomeini is a virtue that Allah bestowed upon us in this century”, he said.

He pointed out that before the Islamic revolution people in Iran were confused that some were supporting the Tudeh parties and the Marxist groups: so, they wanted solutions from Islam to combat with tyrants.

He stated that Imam Khomeini was the answer to the people’s questions and said: “Imam Khomeini knew very well that other revolutions were conducted on the bases of material and worldly demons."

“The revolution was rooted in Islam. Imam Khomeini said ‘the Islamic revolution of Iran is a divine gift that has been realized with the participation of all people in order to establish a just Islamic state and to defend the rights of the oppressed all over the world'".

He pointed out that Islamic revolution in Iran took place in order not to tolerate the greed of the tyrants and neither the hunger of the oppressed.

"In a nutshell we can say that the Islamic revolution in Iran was an Islamic obligation and a divine uprising and that is why the Islamic revolution of Iran is unique”, he said.

“The Islamic revolution of Iran is based upon the historical Shia tradition and great lessons of the Imams of the Tawhid (monotheism) such as Imam Hussain (PBUH) regarding the establishment a Tawhidi society”, Sheikh Shuaib Booley added.

He noted that the Islamic revolution gathered all people around the world under a single flag away from materialism and revived the call of all callers such as Ibrahim (PBUH) and Muhammad, the prophet (PBUH) to Tawhid.

He quoted the words of Imam Khomeini and concluded: "The Islamic revolution of Iran is distinct from all revolutions both in its occurrence and in the manner of struggle as well as in the motive of the revolution and uprising.”
