Damascus slams Western delegations’ illegal entry into Syria

The Syrian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday night sent separate letters to the current chair of the Security Council and the Secretary-General of the United Nations condemning the illegal entry of the American and Swedish delegations into the country.

The US military and its affiliated terrorist elements have been present illegally in northern and eastern Syria for a long time, and in addition to looting the country's oil and grain resources, they are taking action against Syrian residents and forces in the region.
The Syrian government has repeatedly stressed that these militants and the Americans in eastern and northeastern Syria have no purpose other than looting oil emphasizing that the Syrian government will end their illegal presence.
According to the official Syrian news agency (SANA), the letter of the Syrian Foreign Ministry states: "The illegal entry of the US delegation headed by Ian Goldrich, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Northeastern Syria, and in a similar incident to the illegal entry of the Swedish Foreign Ministry's Consular Officer into Syria, violates Syrian sovereignty and the UN Charter and international law."
The letter from the Syrian Foreign Ministry addes: "Damascus reiterates its condemnation of these actions and its determination to extend the sovereignty of the government throughout Syria and to free it from any occupation while upholding its legal right to defend its sovereignty and protect its citizens."
In the past, US delegations have repeatedly entered the northeastern regions of Syria illegally and without the permission of the Syrian government.
