Leader congratulates Iranian nation, president elect on July 5 election

Ayatollah Khamenei, made the remarks in a message issued following publication of the presidential election results that announced Masoud Pezeshkian as the ninth president in the country since the Islamic Revolution, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The Leader hailed the Iranian nation for their commitment and casting more than 55 million ballots in two rounds of vote taking.

Ayatollah Khamenei said: “The great move makes a brilliant and unforgettable step in face of those who boycott the elections as a result of manipulations by the enemies of Iranian nation.”

The Leader congratulated the president elect, Iranian people and all those actively participating in the election calling all to cooperate and weight down ways for advancement and honor of the country.

Ayatollah Khamenei also called on the president elect, Masoud Pezeshkian, for taking steps in line with the path of Martyr Ebrahim Raeisi and make the best of the capacities in the country, particularly the potentials of youths, for further advancement of the country and welfare of the people.

The Leader lauded all executives for immediate preparations for the presidential snap election following the helicopter crash that martyred Ebrahim Raeisi in northwest Iran.

Veteran parliamentarian, Masoud Pezeshkian, won the presidential election with more than 16 million votes against former nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili with more than 13 million out of over 30 million votes cast in the presidential runoff election held on July 5.
