Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, has departed for his first foreign trip after he took office late in August.

Pezeshkian said he is set to sign cooperation agreements with Iraqi officials during the visit to the neighboring country, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The head of executive made the remarks ahead of his departure from Tehran’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Airport on Wednesday morning.
 
He said that the neighboring country Iraq is his first foreign destination as part of Iran’s aforesaid policies on boosting relations with the neighboring countries.
 
Pezeshkian hailed the efforts of the Iraqi government and nation for hosting the Arabaeen pilgrims and said he will also visit the holy shrines in Karbala and Najaf.
 
The head of executive added that a visit to the Iraqi Shia-inhibited cities, Basra and the Kurdish regions of Erbil and Sulaymaniya will also be a part of his trip.
