Malaysian cleric calls unity as core issue of Muslim world
A prominent Malaysian scholar has highlighted unity as the core issue in the world of Islam calling on Muslims worldwide to know the enemies of Islamic ummah (nation).

Dato Azmi Abdul Hamid, speaking at the first webinar of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference, called on Muslims to be honest on admitting the issues in the world of Islam and then to maintain their unity in resolving those issues, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The online meeting was held as part of the annual Islamic Unity Conference held by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
He said Muslims should follow the Qur’anic recommendation on clinging to the rope of Allah (verse 103 Surah Al-e Imran) irrespective of their ethnicity, nationality or complexion.
Dato Azmi Abdul Hamid stressed that Muslims should first know the causes of disunity in the world of Islam and then work hard to revive their solidarity.
He noted that all Muslims are in a game of controlling the world set by the enemies of Islam under the title of new world order adding that the game starts from the basic approach of education, then goes into economics, then politics and ….”
The Malaysian scholar warned that enemies try to brand the Islamic ummah and Muslims as terrorists, a plot to which many Muslims succumb opening the ways for enemies to divide the Islamic nation.
Dato Azmi Abdul Hamid made the comments in an online meeting of over a dozen Muslim scholars and elites from across the globe on Saturday September 14.
The 38th edition of the Islamic Unity Conference is held in two sections; first section including webinars held on September 16-18 and the second part which is held in person on September 19-21 closing with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
